Percy Priest Lake draws crowds with all kinds of interests. One of the marinas serving the lake is Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina. Just outside Nashville, the marina offers sailboat storage options. It also has storage facilities for canoes, rowing shells, kayaks and paddle boards.
The marina is the home of Nashville Rowing and Percy Priest Yacht Club. Learning to sail classes and events for racing as well as social sailing are offered at the marina. Preparing for rowing competitions is the goal of Nashville Rowing. Conducting national and international amateur rowing competitions and helping athletes prepare for competition is part of what the group does.
Hamilton Creek Marina has been in business since 1980. As the marina that focuses on sailboats, canoes kayaks and rowing shells, it has more guests who are interested in those particular water sports. Currently the marina is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Operated by the Nashville Metro Park Service, the marina is part of the Hamilton Creek Recreation Area. The area has a mountain bike trail that is popular among cycling enthusiasts. There are also picnic tables and a playground in the recreation area.
